Inside Brad's 'mid-air clash' with son Maddox

The FBI investigated claims of possible child abuse against Brad Pitt last year after he clashed with eldest son Maddox.

"There was a disagreement with the eldest boy," a staff member of the Jolie-Pitts has told The Sun of the supposed incident on September 14.

"I know it started on the way to the airport before the plane took off and escalated on the plane. It was a teenage thing, there is a lot of hormones going on.

"They were gone for over 10 days. You put eight people in a little tube like that and put them up in the air for 12 1/2 hours, add this and that to it."

Another member of staff adds that they were waiting for the family when they touched down in the US, and says it was obvious that 'things were tense.'

“There were definitely some hurt feelings but I have never seen any evidence of abuse or anything like that," adds the worker.

Us Weekly also published claims that Brad was "drinking heavily" on the flight, reporting that Ange told him to "sober up".

At the time, Brad, 53, was said to be "distraught and terrified" over fears he wouldn't be able to see his six children Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight.

"I have never seen Brad like this. He is distraught, pacing, nervous - totally terrified," added a different employee.

"He is just expressing to me that he is scared. He is scared of losing his kids over something that he hasn't done and him being made out to look like a bad father.

"He is far from a bad father. He's not able to see the kids at the moment but he is constantly in touch with staff asking to make sure they're OK.

"He keeps saying: 'Just look after my kids, that's all that matters right now.'"

Ange filed for divorce from Brad on September 20 for 'the health of her family', sparking speculation that it was this incident that ended their marriage.
