Jess Marais admits she needed a 'mantox'
We all know that cheeky adage about how the best way to get over someone is to… download Tinder and perve.
But that’s a road that Jessica Marais has wisely decided not to take since her split from James Stewart in May last year.
In fact, rather than rushing out to find a new man, the actress has instead been on a self-enforced ‘mantox’.
“There have been times in my life when I've felt the need to work on my own personal growth without depending on affirmation from a man,” Jess, 31, tells OK! magazine.
For the most part, she and Home And Away star James have been successfully co-parenting.
But last month things got messy when James reportedly claimed that Jess was too busy to look after their four-year-old daughter, Scout.
“I am the full-time carer for Scout as Jess is busy working and travelling a lot,” James told Sunday Life magazine.
“When Jess is back, Scout is shared 50/50.”

According to Woman’s Day, Jess was ‘completely blindsided and hurt’ by the interview, although she tells OK! The co-parenting is working out now.
“It takes a little bit of time and it takes a really big heart,” she says. “But once you realise it's about Scout, everything's easy.”
