Kim's spokesperson confirmed the incident, but revealed the star escaped unharmed.

"Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers," Kim's spokesperson Ina Treciokas told CNN. "She is badly shaken but physically unharmed."

Kim has been in the French capital to attend Paris Fashion Week, along with her mum Kris Jenner and sisters Kendall and Kourtney.

"There's a lot happening right now to make sure everyone is safe," a source told E! News.

Meanwhile, her husband Kanye was in the middle of performing at the Meadows Festival in Queens, New York, when he abruptly halted the show, claiming he had a "family emergency".

Video shows the star midway through his song Heartless when he tells the audience, "I’m sorry. I have a family emergency. I have to stop the show."

He's then seen exiting the stage, with confused concert goers later taking to Twitter after the incident.

This isn't Kim's first security scare in Paris. Last week celebrity prankster Vitalii Sediuk - the same man model Gigi Hadid was forced to fend off - was tackled by Kim's security after he tried to kiss her infamous behind.

"I was protesting Kim for using fake butt implants. I encourage her and the rest of Kardashian clan to popularise natural beauty among teenage girls who follow and defend them blindly," Vitalii wrote on Instagram.
