You'll never guess what James Packer's ex-fiancee Kate Fischer looks like now

She was the glamourous model who was engaged to James Packer and starred alongside Elle MacPherson and Portia de Rossi in risque movie Sirens during the 1990s but today Kate Fischer is totally unrecognisable.

Nearly two decades after she left the celebrity world to "find herself" Kate has come back to Melbourne, surprising neighbours as she moved into an upscale apartment in the city's excluisve suburb of Toorak.

"I had no idea it was Kate Fischer," one neighbour has admitted to Woman's Day.

"She's very private, I don't think she goes out much. I see the lights on but I often don't see her for weeks at a time. I think she leads a very simple life. There's certainly never any loud music or late-night parties," they added.

Kate has been in the spotlight since winning the 1988 Dolly Magazine Covergirl competition at aged 14, however in recent years the former model changed her name to T’ziporah Malka after converting to Judaism, and became a US citizen after relocating to LA.

However since moving back to Melbourne, Woman's Day reports she's taken up a part-time job as a therapist at an aged-care facility, studying Yiddish and attending temple."

Kate, who turns 43 next week, is also on social media and has shared a series of photos, showing friends and followers what she gets up to.

Friends of the former TV presenter and actress told the publication that Kate, or T’ziporah, has no regrets about giving up her "famous" lifestyle in Australia.

"I know she'd still like to fall in love and have a family of her own, but she's happy," the friend told the magazine.

"She had to relentlessly diet to maintain her model figure for most of her life before she moved to LA and decided she couldn't care less about that."

James ended the couple's engagement after two years, with Kate then retreating overseas to escape the limelight of being the billionaire's ex-fiancé.

"Sometimes I think I should have stayed in Australia and battled it out a bit, you know? But I was so devastated and I felt like he held all the cards," she has previously said.
