STD test filed in Jim Carrey lawsuit confirms positive results

A STD test that has been filed as evidence in the Wrongful Death lawsuit against Jim Carrey confirms the actor tested positive to Herpes I and II, Chlamydia and Hepatitis A in 2013.

According to DailyMail, Jim was tested under the name of 'Jose Lopez' on January 28, 2013 and shows positive readings for multiple diseases, with the results being recorded three days after he initially took the test.

The family of Jim's late ex-girlfriend, Cathriona White are suing the actor, claiming he passed on the diseases to the make-up artist and provided her with prescription medication which contributed to her suicide last year.

In court documents filed by Cathriona's mother, Brigid Sweetman, she claims 'Jose Lopez' is Jim Carrey, with his birth date listed as January 17, 1962, the same as the Bruce Almighty actor's.

The positive test results were submitted to an LA court as evidence on Thursday with Brigid's lawyer Michael Avenatti stating in the declaration, "After Carrey received the test results, he purposely hid the results from Ms. White, whom he was intimately involved with, and failed to inform her that he had tested positive for Hepatitis A, HSV (Herpes) I and II, and Chlamydia.

"To make matters worse, Carrey then proceeded to have unprotected sex with Ms. White with full knowledge that he was STD positive, including on February 12, 2013 (two days before Valentine's day and within weeks after learning the test results). Even after doing so, he failed to inform Ms. White that he had likely just infected her with STDs and possibly hepatitis A. This was not only callous, it was criminal."

The papers also claim Jim and Cathriona had "unprotected sex" on Valentine's Day.

"[I]nstead of giving Ms. White flowers and chocolates, Carrey should have given her his STD test results and that, and he should have refrained from sex with her - THAT is what she deserved on Valentine's Day," the declaration added.

In previously released text messages between the former couple, Cathriona raises her concerns with Jim about the possibility of having an STD on February 20 after finding "a couple of bumps".

Jim responds to the message stating she could have contracted the disease from "someone before" adding: "Doesn't show up until you're really stressed."

Brigid had previously promised to drop the case if Jim could prove he was clear of infection, but said Jim declined her offer.

"One week ago, I offered to drop my case against Jim Carrey if he released his STD test from 2013 and it showed he was clean as he has told the world," she said in a statement.

"He has refused to release the test, which shows he is a complete liar and cannot be trusted to be honest with the public and the media in this case."

She added: "The public has a right to know when they have been lied to and I again demand that Carrey release the test so people can see for themselves what the truth is."

At the time Jim's attorney, Martin Singer, released a statement on behalf of the actor in response to Cathriona's family dropping the lawsuit, but did not mention his STD results.

"It is understandable that a mother who has lost a daughter will look for someone to blame," he said to the Daily News.

"But in directing her grief and rage at Jim Carrey and joining this ridiculous lawyer's attempt to capitalize on Cathriona's suicide, Mrs. Sweetman is heading down the same dark path as Cathriona's green-card 'husband,' Mark Burton."

Cathriona ex-partner has also filed a similar Wrongful Death lawsuit against the Yes Man star.

Brigid has spoken at length about the role she believes Jim played in their daughter’s death, accusing him of supplying her with the drugs that killed her.

“As a family, we want the world to know the truth about who Jim Carrey really is — a man that will give your daughter three STDs, lie about it, call her terrible names and demean her, use his high-priced lawyers to try and shut her and her family up, and then give her illegal drugs,” she said in a statement.

She then went on to call Jim “heartless,” “outlandish,” “exploitative,” “despicable,” “abhorrent,” “outrageous,” “opportunistic” and “pure evil,” in the document, and claims that her daughter was distraught because the 54-year-old gave her oral and genital herpes as well as chlamydia, which can leave women sterile.
