Why The Wiggles couple hid their relationship

When Lachy Gillespie and Emma Watkins from The Wiggles announced they were heading down the aisle, the people of Australia did a collective 'Awwww'.

But the couple kept their relationship secret for a whole two years before going public because they didn't want people to think it was a 'publicity stunt'.

"We didn't want people to think we were just doing it for publicity," Lachy (the purple wiggle) explained to Kate Waterhouse.

"There is nothing worse if you've only just started in a world-class organisation such as the Wiggles and then all of a sudden we come out that we are together."

Emma (the yellow wiggle) says they decided to go public with their relationship in 2015 because they wanted to "share" it with the world.

Lachy popped the question last May, shortly after their romance was revealed.

"I didn't know that Lachy had planned to propose, so our relationship was announced, and then, about a month and a half later, our engagement," Emma explained.

The adorable duo tied the knot in April in Bowral, NSW, and have been in wedded bliss ever since.

But do they have any plans for a Baby Wiggle any time soon?

"We kind of will have to plan it in between tours. But yes, some day in the future would be lovely," Lachy said on A Current Affair.
