'Sorry' Brad Pitt fears his kids are 'slipping away'

It's been over a month since Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie announced their shock split.

Since then, the actor has been forced to speak out amid claims he struggles with anger management and alcohol problems, with sources close to the A-lister saying this is the most difficult time in Brad's life.

Now, the World War Z star is reportedly doing all that he can to cooperate with Angelina in order to see his kids.

"The longer this goes on, the harder it is for Brad," a source tells Woman's Day. "He feels like his kids are slipping out of his grasp, and it's breaking his heart.

"He spends all day and half the night calling and texting people, asking for help and advice."

Angelina, 41, has been granted temporary custody of Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10 and eight-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. And Brad is apparently so devastasted by this that he's willing to do anything to prove he's a "model citizen".

"What's happened has really hit home for Brad," the source tells. "He realises his children are the most important things in his life.

"He doesn't care about his career or anything else anymore - being with his kids is all that matters to him now."

In the meantime, Brad, 52, is reportedly "doing what he's told" to prove his dedication to the family.

"He'd do anything to see his kids," the source adds. "His view is that he will improve his chances by behaving like a model citizen.

"[His] whole life is on hold until he gets his kids back. he truly can't say sorry enough."

Meanwhile, Brad and his eldest son Maddox recently had their first face-to-face meeting after a month apart.

According to E! News, the father-son-duo were joined by a therapist for their first meeting since Brad was accused of getting 'physical' with the teenager during a mid-air row last month.

The actor already met his other kids when they were brought to his LA home for a supervised visit this month.

But a source says Maddox was still “mad at his dad” and refused to go, before coming around a few days later.

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Angelina and the kids have been questioned by the FBI over what actually happened on that flight from France to the US.

Officials reportedly spent three hours at their Malibu home, going through the incident step-by-step, although the visit is said to have been more about fact finding as opposed to part of an official investigation.

A rep said: "[The FBI is] continuing to gather facts and will evaluate whether an investigation at the federal level will be pursued."

Earlier this month, it was reported that the FBI would not be opening an investigation because "Maddox suffered no injuries and some witnesses on the jet say Brad's contact with the boy was inadvertent.”
