Official images of the Paul Hogan miniseries have been released!

When we found out there was going to be a mini-series about the Aussie icon, we couldn’t contain our excitement!

Finally, Channel 7 has given us a teaser of what to expect in the highly anticipated TV series, Hoges: The Story of Paul Hogan, by releasing a snap of the upcoming show on Twitter.

And House of Lies’ actor Josh Lawson, who will be playing the Crocodile Dundee star, is a dead ringer for the Aussie icon having dyed his hair bright blonde for the role.

It's been revealed that House Husbands actress Justine Clarke will be playing Paul’s partner Noelene Hogan, while Packed To The Rafters star Ryan Corr has been cast as Hoges’ best mate, John Cornell aka ‘Strop’.

The three cast members are the first to be showcased on social media and look seriously similar to the real life characters.

“Paul Hogan has always been one of my heroes, so this role is as exciting as it is challenging," Josh said in press release about the upcoming series.

"He’s such an iconic figure. Everyone loves Hoges and one of his great gifts was making audiences feel like we really knew him.

"But there’s so much of his life that many people don’t know about and I’m thrilled that I get to be a part of telling his incredible story. And to be able to make this back in my hometown of Brisbane just makes it all the more special for me.”

And what does the Hollywood veteran think of the upcoming mini-series about him?

“It’s flattering but it’s not a cure for cancer,” he told The Morning Show earlier this year.

“The kid who’s playing me is a good actor. He’s better looking than I am so I won’t be sitting there going, yeah, that’s how I looked.”

And the Golden Globe winner also had some advice for Josh: “Take life as it comes, that’s what I do."

“Don’t have any fits of deep anxiety," he added. "Don’t have any fears of anything, or be paranoid about anything. I’m boringly sane and self-possessed.”

Paul, 77, admitted he was excited to see how the series plays out but more importantly is “hoping they make me look more interesting than I actually am.”

Also appearing in the miniseries will be Laura Gordon (Winners & Losers) as Hoges’ second wife Linda Kowalski, Puberty Blues star Sean Keenan as a young Paul, Marny Kennedy (Mortified) as a young Noelene and Nikki Osborn (Kinne) as Delvene Delaney.
