Lindsay Lohan explains her bizarre accent

Lindsay Lohan sent the internet into overdrive when recent interviews revealed her bizarre new accent.

Her usually American twang had seemingly become tainted by, well, everything other language on the planet.

When asked about why she was speaking with a new accent all of a sudden, she responded in French: "Je ne sais pas (I don't know)."

"It's a mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn," she told the Daily Mail. "I've been learning different languages since I was a child. I'm fluent in English and French can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian and Arabic."

Who knew she was such a wordsmith?!

The Mean Girls actress recently opened a club in Athens, Greece, after a stressful few months.

She broke off her engagement with Egor Tarabasov earlier this year after revealing she had been in an abusive relationship with him.

“I realise now you can’t stay in a relationship just for love — no woman can be hit and stay with that person if that person isn’t prepared to say sorry,” she said at the time.

“The truth is, I wanted to make things work, but now I’m not sure that I can."

She explained: “I wanted to do this interview because it’s time to tell the truth. There have been so many lies printed about me recently. I’ve kept quiet for so long but now I’m scared of what Egor might do to me and to himself.”

In October, Lindsay also had to get emergency surgery after she sliced her finger off in a boating accident - luckily doctors were able to reattach it.
