Jennifer Hawkins 'not surprised' by Trump win

Donald Trump winning the US presidential election came as no surprise to his pal Jennifer Hawkins.

The model, who became friends with Trump when she won Miss Universe in 2004, spoke to Daily Mail about his victory over Hillary Clinton.

"I wasn't surprised at all," she told the publication, adding that she hasn't had the chance to congratulate the former pageant co-owner on his win.

"Not as yet," the 32-year-old said. "But I'm sure I'll get the chance. It's been a big week."

The Australian model, who has been known to jump to the defense of her pal in the past, calling him everything from "respectful" to "inspiring", has recently tried tirelessly to distance herself from his presidential campaign.

In fact, Jen's manager released a statement in October to make it clear that she does not want to be involved.

"Jennifer is not interested and will not be commenting on Donald Trump," it read. "She is not interested in getting involved in the politics."

And for good reason. The former Miss Universe winner was once filmed being sexually humiliated by Trump in front of huge crowd as he called her "not very bright" before trying to kiss her and touch her waist.

Footage of the moment emerged in October that showed Trump embarrassing the model on stage with a series of lewd sexual innuendos.

The video, captured in Sydney 2011 and published by The Huffington Post in 2016, showed the billionaire sharing his secrets to success in business.

"Get even with people. If they screw you, screw them back 10 times as hard. I really believe that," Trump said to a loud cheer.

"I'll give you an example," he continued in the clip. "Jennifer Hawkins. Where’s Jennifer? Where’s she sitting? Get over here, Jennifer.

"First of all, how beautiful is Jennifer? This is about getting even."

He then demonstrated how he will "get even" with the beauty queen, insulting her in various ways and accusing her of brushing off his request she introduce him at the event.

"I was so angry at her yesterday. Seriously, as I said, I thought that she dissed me. I thought that my Jennifer - I'm going around saying she's my favourite Miss Universe, but I think I like the new one better, Jennifer.

"So I go around saying she's the greatest... then when I came here, there was no Jennifer Hawkins to introduce me."

Jen then tries to explain there had been a miscommunication, but Trump shuts her down and takes the mic back to bring home the lesson in retribution.

"I was actually going to get up and tell you that Jennifer is a beautiful girl on the outside, but she's not very bright," he said to the laughing crowd.

"That wouldn’t have been true, but I would have said it anyway."

Trump then elaborated on how he believed Jen had slighted him, adding that he hadn't seen her in a few years.

He said: "I helped her make it - I own the Miss Universe pageant. And I heard that she wouldn't introduce me.

"So what happens is - and you know what? She came tonight, she came - came, she came, she came," he quips to the crowd that cracks with raucous laughter at the pun.

But instead of then apologising to the model for the pun, he simply said: "See, so they have the same filthy minds in Australia."

He then grabbed her around the waist and pulled her into him while trying to kiss her.

In the footage, the model throws up an arm to resist his advance, allowing the billionaire only a chance to plant one on her cheek.
