Gina Liano wanted to 'empower women' with her nude shoot
Criminal lawyer and Real Housewives of Melbourne star Gina Liano recently posed nude for the cover of Stellar Magazine.
And now, in a new interview with The Morning Show, the 50-year-old is shedding more light on why she chose to ditch her clothes for the spread.
“The motivation for me is that it would be a glamour shot and something that would be empowering for women,” she tells. “I suppose to give people an insight into who I am.”
The RHOM star explains that she wanted to show a different side of her personality than what we see on our TV screens.
“Watching me on reality TV gives off a certain persona I suppose but there’s a lot more to the woman I suppose which is why they’re baring the naked truth about me.”
Gina adds that she wouldn't have posed nude at all if she were 20 years younger.
This comes as fellow reality star Anna Heinrich, who also works as a lawyer, stripped off for Women’s Health in a totally nude spread.
Asked by co-hosts Larry Endur and Kylie Gyllies if she, like Anna, was reluctant at first to go nude so publicly, Gina confessed that she was but for a different reason.
"I didn’t want to do a [fully] nude shoot,” Gina explains. “I think Anna was very brave - I think the headline was ‘I wouldn’t have done this at the age of 30’ which is around about where she is.
“[But] the reason I say this is that I wouldn’t have wanted it to be a raunchy sort of shot and I think that if you’re around that age it could give off that."
Gina then began to elaborate on her comments, explaining that Anna's shoot was for a wellness magazine so it was handled in a sensitive way.
“Not that that’s what’s happened in a wellness magazine [for Anna’s shoot] but at my age it’s more of a glamour shot and that’s the reason I did it.”
Meanwhile, Anna, 29, opened up in her revealing interview about her body insecurities.
Stripping off for the latest issue of Women's Health, the lawyer admits she struggles with body image issues like everybody else.

For Anna, stripping down was something she thought twice about, but admits she felt like she needed to do in order to celebrate her shape.
"Someone once said I had a positive energy and I've held onto that - that's something I love to hear more than, 'You look great'," she says.
Anna admits she’s never done anything drastic to slim down and only ever gone on one diet – “a juice diet; I did it for about a day”.
Instead, she prefers to eat well and exercise regularly to stay in shape.
Pump classes and working out with chiropractor and personal trainer Tim are her favourite form of exercise, with the 29-year-old notching up her first half marathon earlier this year.
