Ryan Reynolds on the moment he realised Blake was 'The One'

They're one of Hollywood's more private couples, yet it hasn't stopped Ryan Reynolds from gushing about the moment he realised wife Blake Lively was 'the one'.

Speaking to GQ after being named the magazine's 2016 Man of the Year, the Deadpool star joked it was "probably after the sex" that he fell for the Gossip Girl actress, before revealing the real moment.

"No, we were hanging out at this little restaurant in Tribeca that's open really late, and this song came on and I was just like, 'Want to dance?' No-one was in there, so it was just totally empty," Ryan told the publication.

"And it was just one of those moments where halfway through the dance, it was like, 'Oh, I think I just crossed a line'. And then I walked her home. And, uh, you know, I don't really need to go into what happened after that."

However the actor wasn't keen on spilling all the details when asked what song swept the couple off their feet saying, "I do [remember the title], but I'm not gonna say. You're shut out."

Aw, these two are our couple goals!

Ryan and Blake married in 2012 after meeting on set of The Green Lantern, in front of just 35 close family and friends in Charleston, South Carolina.

The couple have since remained notoriously private about their personal life, welcoming a daughter James in December 2014 and a second child in September this year.

Although remaining tight lipped on their second child's gender and name, Ryan hilariously spilled some details during a recent appearance on Conan.

When Conan O'Brien asked about his second child with the 29-year-old Ryan revealed, "Yeah, a lot of estrogen. It’s like an American Girl doll took a s**t on my life.”

So we can assume the couple are proud parents to two little girls!

Ryan also spoke openly about his struggles with his mental health, revealing the stress from making Deadpool lead him to have a 'nervous breakdown' and being diagnosed with anxiety after filming on the action comedy wrapped.

"When it finally ended, I had a little bit of a nervous breakdown. I literally had the shakes," he told the publication.

"I went to go see a doctor because I felt like I was suffering from a neurological problem or something. And every doctor I saw said, 'You have anxiety'. I say this with the caveat that I completely recognize the ridiculously fortunate position that I am in. But the attention is hard on your nervous system - that might be why I live out in the woods.

"And I was banging the loudest drum for Deadpool. I wasn't just trying to open it; I was trying to make a cultural phenomenon," he added.

During the revealing interview the 40-year-old also spoke about his challenging relationship with his estranged father, who died in October 2015 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

"I had a rough 10-year patch with my father. So we were estranged. Now we're really estranged. But I actually had that sort of epic moment that only happens in films, where I saw him before he died and closed the loop as much as I could," he said.

"At some point, you just kinda gotta live and let go. I always wanted that father that was like Wilford Brimley, who would put me on his lap and just dispense incredible life advice and guidance, and I would go out into the world and execute it beautifully.

"From my earliest memory of him, my father was that stereotypical tough guy. But it was just a veneer. The hardest part for me is that he was always kind of a mystery. I just don't feel like I ever had a real conversation with him," Ryan added.
