Carrie Bickmore backs Zoe Foster Blake against 'sharenting' critics

Carrie Bickmore has come to the defence of Hamish Blake and his wife Zoe Foster, after they were accused of invading their toddler son’s privacy by sharing too many shots of him online.

Responding to an opinion piece by News Corp columnist Angela Mollard, who speculated that so-called “sharenting” was “ugly, scary and damaging,” Carrie hit back on The Project last night, insisting famous parents do it in a bid to “control” what is out there.

“I used to be so private with Ollie, never put any photos of Ollie out there, because all I want is for him to have the most normal upbringing. To go to school and not have photos of him everywhere,” said the presenter, who also has 20-month-old daughter Evie.

“But then, when photos of him and Evie started appearing in magazines taken by other photographers on the street and stuff, it was almost like I wanted a bit of ownership back.

“One day I might want to post every hour… because you love your kids, and you’re so proud. But then on the other days I’m like, ‘Nup, I’ve just go to stop.’”

Carrie's words come after Hamish and Zoe seemingly responded to the criticism – by posting another adorable family photo!

"That feeling when you're innocently taking your family branch for a walk and a gang of giraffes jumps you," Hamish captioned the photo of their little family at the zoo.

The author has previously addressed claims she shares too much, insisting that he's such a huge part of her life that he's bound to play a massive role in her online presence.

"I spend my life with this child; it would be weirder for me never to post a photo of him. And we are as sure as s**t not exploiting him," she told The Age.
