Chris Evans on being a sex symbol: 'Hey, I'm not gonna fight ya'
Chris Evans has got the good looks, the charm and that Hollywood glow about him. And what’s ever more sexy? That he’s not afraid to own it.
“Hey, I'm not gonna fight ya,” the gorgeous star joked when Be caught up with him and asked how he feels about being a sex symbol.
There’s one title he doesn’t want though, and that’s to be People’s Sexiest Man Alive.
When asked if Captain America would want to follow in The Rock’s newly anointed footsteps, he explained, “The hardest part about being the Sexiest Man of the Year is then the next year not being the Sexiest Man of the Year, so maybe I don't want to fall from that.”
That’s one way of looking at it.
However, the Boston-based actor, who was only in Australia for a flying visit, has just been granted a prestigious title of his own - Chivas Regal whisky’s Asia Pacific Ambassador.
When asked why he thinks he was selected to be the face of the Scottish Whisky, the humble actor joked: “Maybe they thought I was Chris Hemsworth and they regret their decision.”
So humble. *Swoon*
There’s one slight problem with his new endeavor though.
“When I drink whisky I don't have a smooth whisky tasting face… I’m finding my whisky legs,” he tells Be. As if!
Chris’s career took off in 2000 when he appeared on the TV series Opposite Sex. Since, he’s appeared in many major superhero movies such as the Avengers, Fantastic Four and Captain America.
Having climbed the ladder to become a household name, Chris says the hardest part of his journey has been learning to accept the uncertainty that comes with acting.
“Accepting the fact that there is no such thing as momentum,” the star says. “As actors, it’s easy to get sucked into the world of feeling like once you’ve had a job, you’ve got to keep this momentum going otherwise it’s all going to be taken from you.
“I think it’s tough to kind of realise that this is not a race, there’s no ticking clock breathing down your neck and stay the course, do the work that you believe in and pick the projects that mean something to you and everything will be ok."
Despite having mastered the action marvel movies, comedic roles such Jake in Not Another Teen Movie and directed his own drama romance, Before We Go in 2014, the versatile actor unfortunately refused to give us his best Scottish impression…

“No way!” Chris laughed.
Why?
“Because it will be the WORST Scottish accent… I won't berate myself or insult the Scottish people.
“Not without lots of training or someone to teach me out to do it. I can’t just do it off the cuff.”
Fair enough Chris!
“You got it,” he said.
