"Being taken seriously!" Jessica told Be when asked what her biggest challenge was.

"Overcoming this challenge meant refining my concept, knowing the space in the marketplace better than anyone and shaping my vision around specific, sustainable and scalable business goals."

Despite some controversy surrounding the company, Jessica hasn't let the hard times stop her and she's not finish yet, with a vision for her non-toxic household products to reach beyond the US and Canada.

"I would like to grow the Honest Company into a global brand. Right now we’re just domestic but it really would be a dream to give everyone the access to healthy products to live their best life," the mother-of-two added.

Jessica, who is a global beauty ambassador for Braun, also said it was easy to sign up as an ambassador because her values are reflected in the partnership.

"I’ve really enjoyed working with Braun over the years because they always seek a deeper meaning of true beauty," she said.

"Of course, you want to have certain tools to help you get there, but at the end of the day it’s really about what’s inside. I think it’s really nice when a brand embraces a bigger overall concept."

Firmly cementing herself as a girl boss, Jessica hopes to pass along the lessons she's learnt to her two daughters, eight-year-old Honor and five-year-old Haven.

"Never underestimate yourself," Jessica said before also adding, "Of all the voices you’ll hear along the way, the most important to listen to is your own."
