'I miss him': Michelle talks life without Heath

Michelle Williams has opened up about what it's like to raise her daughter Matilda without Heath Ledger in another heart-wrenching interview.

Having previously spoken about how she handles the challenges of raising the couple's 11-year-old daughter alone, the 36-year-old now adds that it's a "lonely" experience without the support of her former partner.

"There's nobody to share things with, the good and the bad," Michelle told Porter Magazine.

"Every parent-teacher conference, every dance recital, every birthday, every holiday, every first day of school, every time she smiles, laughs, I miss him for her, and I miss being able to share her with him. I miss the shared parental joy."

The actress added that why the "absence is an unacceptable thing" it's something she has learnt to live with following Heath's death in 2008, when Matilda was only three-years-old.

And while Michelle continues to navigate her way through single-parenting, she found comfort with a close group of friends who understand what she's going through.

"I know a handful of women in similar positions, it's kind of like a club. It's a s****y club and we don't want any new members," she lightheartedly joked to the publication.

"And all of the current members are exhausted. But oh man, oh man, it's lifesaving to to have [them]."

Despite dating fellow actor Jason Segal and author Jonathan Safran Foer, Michelle admitted that after the 10 Things I Hate About You star's death, she went on the rebound.

"I think at the beginning I was operating from a place of extreme loneliness and sadness and I was just reaching for whatever was nearby," she said.

"As I get older, the job description [of a partner] is a little lengthier.

"But I'm also happy with myself and just because I might have a desire to be with someone, or to have a family that looks a bit more normal, that on't lead me to marry the wrong person."

Michelle jokingly added that her good friend, actress Busy Phillips, suggested she wait for the next wave of divorced men before finding love again!

"Are you kidding me? I'm just sitting around and waiting for marriages to crumble? Oh wow! No!" Michelle said.

"Actually I'm at a place where, if this is what it is, I'm happy with it. I'm not going to run around begging people to set me up. For ma long time I thought I needed someone to come and fix what was broken. But you know, ours may be a small family, but it's totally complete."
