Candyman party insider spills all

The Candyman’s infamous Candy Shop Mansion party is out of most people’s league.

To crack an invite from anywhere in the world, you either have to register and be stalked on Facebook before being handpicked by Travers Beynon. Or, get his ‘Free Choice’ tobacco brand tattooed on your body to win an all-expenses paid trip to the bash.

Unless you’ve got the right “attitude” or are Bianca Dye and are friends with the tobacco tycoon, then you can pretty much keep dreaming about ever making it to the exclusive Gold Coast event.

“It's like entering another universe,” Gold FM radio host Bianca said, flashing back to Travers Beynon aka The Candyman’s extravagant 2016 Candy Shop Mansion party.

“The Candyman does things differently to everybody else. So everything has to be extra big, extra special for that extra wow factor,” she said of the Seven Deadly Sins-themed bash held at his Helensvale home on December 3.

In an exclusive interview, the 43-year-old gave Be a thorough firsthand account of The Candyman’s excessive mansion party and admitted she was “blown away” from the minute she walked in.

The TV personality and the self-made millionaire share a texting friendship that goes back a few years, and she was personally asked to host the red carpet and get his guests in the mood as they arrived.

“You’re greeted by these incredible girls,” Bianca said, describing what she saw as she walked down the lush red carpet.

There were Dita Von Teese girls splashing around in massive life-size champagne glasses, bikini girls on rollerskates with green alcoholic injection shots, a woman with a python wrapped around her neck and practically nude chicks dressed as the Seven Deadly Sins, but not in clothes... duh... in body paint!

That’s what Travers’ 1000 specially picked party guests were welcomed with as they entered his gold iron gates and made their way into the party paradise.

“It was like walking into an Alice in Wonderland situation, like into another world because everyone just left inhibitions at the front door,” she said.

Adorned head-to-toe in a sexy ringmaster costume that Travers specially had made for her, Bianca recalled the weird sensation she felt seeing the party set-up before all the guests arrived.

“It was like being backstage at Splendour in the Grass meets a kids concert meets the Playboy Mansion. There were about 150 working behind the scenes… so many people with madonna headsets talking to each other, bodyguards everywhere, security everywhere.

“It was the calm before the storm because you knew in 20 mins' time this place would be throbbing with music and the world's best DJs and people going nuts and lots of skin and flesh and I just couldn't wait to see what everyone was going to wear.

"These parties have become so infamous around the world now, people go out of their way and over the top to wear the skimpiest sexiest outfit and I just thought ‘Wow, I can't wait to see what's going to happen. It’s going to be like an all-you-can-eat buffet of hot humans!’”

The Candyman has been dubbed Australia’s version of America’s Playboy businessman Hugh Hefner, and just like him, Travers has an entourage of stunning, sexy, slim and confident women he hand-picks from all around the world.

“But not just beautiful,” Bianca said. “Smart cheeky, sassy girls that represent The Candyman.”

Bianca said she kept having to stop and remind herself where she was because the decor, attention to detail, Swarovski-encrusted costumes, amount of flesh and beautiful people was unlike anything she’d ever seen before.

“I kept walking around and having to pick my jaw up from the ground,” she said, in awe of the extent The Candyman and his team went to to make it a day guests would never forget.

“No expenses spared. It was out of control!” Bianca said.

“The thing about the Candy Shop mansion, is that they think about everything,” she said.

There were food trucks set up all along the left driveway with every kind of festival food you could think of. From corn on the cob to pizza, chilli con carne to fairy floss – Bianca said there were so many trucks you didn't even need to line up.

Bianca said Travers ordered about 10,000 bottles of Absolut Vodka and that the bar was flowing with Moët Champagne and top-shelf tequila.

“This is not a party that's run by a tight-ass,” she said.

“There was a special air-conditioned room set up next to the pool that if you did get your hair or makeup wet, they had five professional hair and makeup artists waiting there to fix you up and make you look good.”

There were rooms for each of the seven deadly sins: Pride, Envy, Wrath, Gluttony. Sloth, Greed and Lust.

Since Bianca was the red carpet, she spent the majority of her time chilling in the VIP Lust room, which was roped off for Travers’ Free Choice Tobacco franchisees, and as Bianca described, was “out of this world.”

The Lust room "had the most incredibly stocked bar I've ever seen... The barman even gave me a lesson in the best tequila in the world.

"There were girls practically naked with really sexy bodies, obviously professional pole dancers, in the most incredible costumes,” she said, adding that there was a bed placed in the middle room and contortionists doing mind-bending things with their insane bodies.

"I just stood there for a while staring at them and I thought ‘Far out! They’re going to think I'm like some dirty perv!' They were just so beautiful and so talented."

Ironically the VIP area is usually the kids play room, Bianca noted.

“They're normally watching bloody Finding Nemo in there but it turned into the "Finding Tequila Bar" for the day. It was amazing!," she said.

You’d never guess from his open Playboy lifestyle that Travers is also a family man with four children.

The 44-year-old shares 17-year-old son Valentino and 16-year-old daughter Lucciana with his ex-wife, Venezuelan Miss World winner Ninibeth Leal. He also has two young children with current wife, body-sculpter Taesha.

While Travers’ two eldest kids were old enough to be at the party, Bianca said she didn’t see them and assumed the two younger children were being babysat in one of the wings of the huge mansion.

“Traves is very influenced by his two older kids, they're right into their DJs and groovy music,” Bianca said, adding that renowned model and DJ Brooke Evers did a killer job of playing music that covered everybody's taste.

“It was good because the party is full of 19-year-old hot chicks but also 50-year-old men who own the biggest restaurants on the Gold Coast. She nailed it,” she said.

Speaking of nailing it… Travers’ party entrance at 3pm “was out of control!

"There were six helicopters, guys on jetpacks dressed as gladiators, wielding fire sticks… It made Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible stuff look tame!” she said.

Tribal music played as Travers came down on a parachute and landed on a tank atop a barge in the middle of the water, which slowly made its way towards his private jetty.

Fire spat out of posts up into the air on neighbouring barges as trapeze artists tackled difficult acts suspended from tall silver poles.

Surrounded by his entourage of girls dressed in sexy Game Of Thrones-style costumes with black feathered capes, and male models in gladiator outfits guarding the path as he got off the barge, Travers’ grand entrance was nothing short of spectacular.

Bianca will never forget one hilarious moment just before The Candyman’s epic arrival.

“I went downstairs and underneath the house is this massive room where he usually keeps his million-dollar cars. They were all taken out for the day and that's where all the girls got changed.

"I went into there to fix a bit of my costume and blow dry my hair and there was only one hair dryer that wasn't being used… It was so hot and sweaty and one of the girls came up to me naked, just in a g-string and she was like ‘Babe can you blow dry my nipples? Because they’re too sweaty and my nipple tassels won’t stick.’"

“So at one stage I had someone fixing my hair with a ghd, while I held a hairdryer on one of the girl’s nipples... “ she recalled the hilarious memory.

As people with earpieces counted down the minutes until Travers’ arrival, “Here I was blowdrying someone's nipples so she could stick these incredible sequined tassels on her nipples so she could get on the barge in time for the arrival of The Candyman,” Bianca said.

“Only at the Candy Shop Mansion would this happen.”

Bianca was only meant to stay until 8pm but ended up staying right until the end with Travers and a few others having a cheers at 11pm.

“It's a professionally put on party, not some debauchery thing where people are there until 3am getting wasted. It’s really not like that,” she said, clarifying the stereotypes people have about the infamous party.

“It’s all about fun, being sexy and celebrating the human body.

“There’s lots of flesh, lots of skin, it’s a real celebration of being naughty and cheeky and living life outside most people's boundaries,” she said.

“It was basically like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory except chocolate is alcohol and the girls are all in bikinis.”
