Brad left 'broken and tearful' over holidays
Brad Pitt has reportedly been left 'broken' and 'tearful' over the festive season, struggling to deal with the fact he was unable to celebrate Christmas with his children.
As he continues to battle through his divorce and child custody arrangements with estranged wife Angelina Jolie, the 52-year-old actor has called the 2016 holiday season the worst of his life.
"Brad’s anguish is palpable right now. He desperately misses having his kids with him at Christmas and New Year," a source close to Brad tells MailOnline.
"These supervised visits are sheer hell on him. He’s broken down in tears so many times – he’s not ashamed to cry any more."
"Brad is like a broken man. He feels betrayed by a woman whom he says he still loves. He misses her despite everything that has happened between them," they insider adds.
The Allied star saw his six children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, ten, and eight-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, in the days leading up to Christmas with court-appointed supervision sitting in on the visit, only his third time seeing his kids after Angelina filed for divorce in September.
The publication adds that Brad reportedly was able to see his children again on Christmas Day, however Maddox wasn't interested in attending the meeting.
However the insider adds Brad is determined to "get his kids back, no matter what it takes" in 2017 and it doesn't matter "what humiliating hoops the legal system makes him jump next."
Brad and Angelina have been at the centre of an increasingly messy and bitter divorce proceedings, with the actor's plea to keep all documents sealed and not made public rejected by the courts.
Brad and his lawyer Lance S. Spiegel, made the request after Ange and her lawyer Laura Wasser filed revealing documents about their temporary custody arrangement, including details of the children’s therapists.
The document, dubbed the “October Stipulation,” also detailed the Maleficent star’s insistence that Brad be tested for drugs and alcohol four times a month.
In an email to Lance, Laura defended their decision, stating, “You have made it clear that Brad intends to file an RFO for increased custodial time next week and that nothing the therapists say during our meeting on Monday will change Brad’s position.
“Therefore we will be filing the Stipulation and Order Re Child Custody and Therapy.”

Lance replied, questioning their logic and arguing that there are “no enforcement issues that entitle you to file the stipulation.”
He continues to point out that the stipulation contains “confidential information regarding the children being in therapy and the names of their therapists.
“The public disclosure of such information has serious privacy implications and is potentially damaging,” he added.
