Just last month she farewelled her boyfriend Chandler Powell as he headed back to the US, and now Bindi Irwin is said to be "shattered" that she consequently cannot move in with her beau.
According to New Idea magazine, the 18-year-old daughter of late Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin, and the American wakeboarder, had been planning to live together on the Sunshine Coast before Christmas, and had been spotted buying household items in the weeks leading up to the festive season.
But a source tells the publication that the pair's different career ambition aligned with separate countries, means "it's just getting harder".
"With Bindi obviously dedicated to Australia Zoo and Chandler's wakeboard career taking him all over the world, it's just getting harder," the source says.
The insider adds: "They'v been talking about taking their relationship to the next level for a while -not just moving in, but marriage as well.
"But now that plans to move in are on the backburner, Bindi just feels the whole relationship isn't playing out the way she'd hoped and imagined."
Be has contacted Bindi's representatives for comment.
Last month the youngsters put on a gushing display of affection on their respective Instagram accounts, ahead of Chandler's return to the US.
Taking to Instagram, Bindi shared a photo of the cute couple, along with a sweet message dedicated to her beau.
"You are flying back to the USA today. Dropping you off at the airport & waving goodbye, it never gets easier," she began her caption.
"Thank you for the most wonderful adventures these last few months. We even got to celebrate your 20th birthday here in Australia together, hiking through the Great Dividing Range!"
The couple had been spending time Down Under as of late, and were together to celebrate Bindi's 18th birthday at Queensland's Australia Zoo in July.
But now the couple have had to briefly part ways, with Chandler heading back to his hometown in the US.
And saying goodbye was evidently harder for Bindi than she thought it would be.
"I've known you since you were 16 and every day, from the very first day I met you, you've been my sunshine. I will see you again soon!" she then wrote in her Instagram post.
"Thank you for everything, you always make me smile, no matter how far apart we may be. Have fun while you're away, go find lots of manatees in Florida for me! I miss you so much already. You really do mean the world to me. @chandlerpowell".
There's no doubt the pair are a true match made in heaven, with Chandler sharing a very similar sentiment on his social media page.
It seems leaving his lady love behind was a challenge for him too, as he wrote on Instagram: "It seems like just yesterday I arrived in Australia for your birthday. Each good bye gets more and more difficult".
"I always carry even the smallest of moments, like these sunset walks through the zoo, with me no matter where I go. Counting down the days until I'm back with you again creating more incredible, unforgettable memories. Thank you for making me so happy each and every day."
The pair's gushing display on social media comes after Bindi denied in November that the pair were set to wed.
Chatting to Richard Wilkins and Sonia Kruger on Today Extra, the teenager assured the hosts there wasn’t any truth to rumours of an engagement to her beau.
“I'm very lucky. I have a wonderful boyfriend. I'm so glad that Chandler is here in Australia to celebrate his 20th birthday,” she said, referring to her brother Robert's birthday.
She continued: “We're just enjoying our time together. No wedding bells just yet.
“We’re having fun together and enjoying the time here in Australia because he's originally from Florida. We're slowly adapting here to Australia Zoo and getting him in with the all the animals. We're having a lot of fun. So it works out, but no marriage just yet. I'm 18. I'm happy.”
Days earlier she was also forced to hit back at claims she was starting a family with her boyfriend of two years.
