Ange breaks silence after Brad split

Angelina Jolie has broken her silence following her split from Brad Pitt, admitting that the last few months have proved to be a "difficult time".

The 41-year-old movie star, who has been embroiled in a bitter custody battle with her ex ever since she filed for divorce last September, says her main focus is her six kids.

"I don’t want to say very much about that, except to say it was a very difficult time and we are a family, and we will always be a family," she tells the BBC.

"Many, many people find themselves in this situation.

"My whole family have all been through a difficult time. My focus is my children, our children and my focus is finding this way through," she continued.

"We are and forever will be a family and so that is how I am coping.

"I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer."

The couple, who met on the set of film Mr And Mrs Smith back in 2005, share children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

Last week she took her six-strong brood to Siem Reap, Cambodia for the premiere of her new movie, First They Killed My Father.

Ange filed for divorce in September after 12 years together, two of which she and Brad were married, and requested full custody of the couple's six children.

The shock filing came after an alleged incident between the actor and the couple's eldest son Maddox on a private plane. While the Dept. of Children and Family Services investigated the matter, Brad was cleared of any child abuse claims.

In January, Angelina and Brad released their first joint statement amid the custody battle.

With the agenda to protect the privacy of their six children, the former couple's statement given to The Daily Mail read: "The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues".
