How Karl’s family 'heard' about Jasmine

Since news broke last September of Karl Stefanovic and Cassandra Thorburn’s split after 21 years, all eyes have been on the Today host.

His rumoured relationship with LA-based model and shoe designer Jasmine Yarbrough, 33, has been widely reported on, and the pair seemingly confirmed their status with a PDA session over the weekend.

The Sunday Telegraph published pics of Karl, 42, and Jasmine cosying up on a Sydney Harbour yacht cruise.

But despite Woman’s Day claiming that Karl had “broken the news of his new relationship to estranged wife Cassandra”, new reports paint a different picture.

A source tells Fairfax Media that “at no point before it was released in the media did Karl tell Cassandra or the children he was in a relationship and that he wanted his girlfriend to meet them.”

“He has still not talked to his children about it,” the unnamed insider told the publication. “They were shocked by his public display of his relationship.”

The couple’s three kids Jackson, 17, Ava, 11 and River, 10, are living with Cass at the family’s North Shore home, while Karl is apparently renting a place nearby.

The star has been absent from his Today Show co-host seat for the past two mornings.
