Who’s the belle of the ball? Fairy tale glam at Oscars 2017
It may not be nominated for any Oscars - or even in cinemas yet - but it seems the live action Beauty and the Beast remake is having a massive impact on red carpet style.
As Tinseltown’s best and brightest filed into the Hollywood and Highland Center, dramatic gowns with full skirts were the order of the day.
There was no doubt as to who Leslie Mann was channelling when she stepped out in a strapless gold gown complete with a bustled skirt and bow detail at the bust.
Ginnifer Goodwin, Kirsten Dunst and Octavia Spencer also followed the trend but went for more structured designs, while Scarlett Johansson slipped into a floaty pink number cinched in at the waist with a metallic belt.
La La Land star Emma Stone sashayed down the red carpet in something a little less poofy, but stuck to Belle's iconic golden hue in a gorgeously detailed dress that could easily have stepped out of The Great Gatsby.

Australia's own Nicole Kidman also opted for a metallic design, as did Jessica Biel and Dakota Johnson.
Doing her best to outdo the actors and actresses, model Chrissy Teigen made a statement in a tight-fitting frock with gold embellishments and a daring thigh-high split.

She was joined by fellow model Karlie Kloss, who was all white in a sleek and simple frock with a cape detail over one shoulder, while former beauty queen Olivia Culpo, took the plunge in a layered frock dripping with glass details - yes GLASS.
Aussie Hacksaw Ridge star Teresa Palmer, also opted for a metallic look in a silver and grey number that was belted in at the waist. While Hidden Figures star Octavia Spencer, and director Ava DuVernay, kept that colour scheme but went for more A-line silhouettes.

They were joined by TV presenters Nancy O’Dell and Zuri Hall who kicked things off in dressed with dramatic trains.
Nancy was the ultimate woman in red in a scarlet ball gown with a sweetheart neckline while Zuri was pretty in a sheer pink number with a feathered end.
Actresses Cynthia Erivo and Sofia Carson also went big and bold with printed frocks featuring voluminous skirts.
