Cheryl: 'Andrew scarred me for life'

She opted to leave her toxic TV marriage to Andrew on Sunday night and now Married at First Sight star Cheryl Maitland said the experience has left her "scarred".

Speaking to KISSFM's Kyle and Jackie O on Monday morning, the 25-year-old told the radio duo that she she'll be easing into dating after her experience with her TV husband on the reality show.

"Have you slept with anyone else since Andrew?" Kyle asked.

"No, I'm scarred for life," Cheryl replied, before clarifying she's looking for a guy that "doesn't mimic me", referencing Andrew's behaviour at a dinner party, when asked what type of suitor she'd be searching for.

Cheryl also admitted that watching the series back has been "confronting" and that she "didn't realise how bad it was" between her and the 38-year-old Firefighter until she saw it on TV.

She also revealed that she hasn't spoken to Andrew since leaving their relationship.

The Gold Coast native took the opportunity to slam recent reports that Andrew had found her in bed with another guy during the home visits.

"He's one of my closet friends and he's gay but Andrew did want a three-way," Cheryl candidly revealed on the breakfast show.

"But it wasn't really like that but he's turned it around to try and make it such a problem but it definitely not like that. He knows Andrew, they talked heaps throughout the night and were getting along and when I told said he was going to come into bed because he was originally downstairs it's was a big deal then, but now he's like 'Oh my god there were two guys in the bed,'" she added.

"No, it's not what it seems. He just moved over, he was getting out of bed anyway because he had plans. To me it wasn't a massive deal and to Andrew at the time it wasn't but now it is."
