A Cambodian aid worker has claimed Angelina Jolie unwittingly signed fake documents when she adopted Maddox.
Mounh Sarath, has alleged he falsely put his name down on the papers as Maddox’s father to speed the whole process up and to supply a Cambodian address for the court.
And while there's no evidence Jolie or her then husband at the time, Billy Bob Thornton, knew anything about Sarath’s actions, he now claims he has power of attorney over the 15-year-old.
Jolie famously adopted Maddox back in 2003 and took him to Los Angeles to live with her.
And while Brad Pitt legally adopted Maddox in 2006, Sarath claims the court considers him the teenage boy’s father.
“In court documents, Maddox is still my son. She never cleared this up,” Sarath told The Sun.
Sarath, who was the director of the adoption charity, helped Jolie with the whole process back in 2003 but he admits they don’t stay in touch.
“I would be happy if Cambodia didn’t see her again,” he said.
The allegations come after Jolie previously started that she ensured Maddox didn’t have a living-birth mother in the country as she would never want to take a baby away from it’s mother.
She also claimed that she would never adopt from a country where they didn’t have stringent laws on the practice.
Jolie’s estranged husband, Brad Pitt, adopted Maddox three years after his wife.
Just eight days after they announced the adoption, they revealed the news that Jolie was pregnant with daughter Shiloh,
Maddox went on to become the eldest of six kids and is now brother to Pax, Shiloh, Vivienne, Knox and Zahara.
Jolie split with Brad Pitt last year and the pair are said to be embroiled in a custody battle over their children.
