Spice Girl Melanie Brown has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband Stephen Belafonte after almost 10 years of marriage.
In official court documents obtained by E! Online, Mel has cited “irreconcilable differences” as grounds for divorce.
The publication also claims that she is requesting that the court terminate all spousal support to Stephen.
According to People, Mel is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s daughter Madison, 5.
The singer, 41, tied the knot with the film producer Stephen in 2007.
The couple are parents to Madison, as well as Mel’s daughters Angel, 9, and Phoenix, 17, from her previous relationships with ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy and ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar respectively, as well as Giselle, 12, Stephen’s daughter with ex-girlfriend Nicole Contreras.
E! reports that the official papers list the date of the couple’s separation as December 28, 2016.
The news comes after Mel posted a loved-up message to her husband on Instagram just last month.
“My baby boo,” Mel wrote in the caption. “We have been through everything that would normally tear couples apart and we have come out on the other side stronger.”
“You loved me before I even [knew] how to really love myself,” she continued. “You are my world, honey.”
Perhaps tellingly, she ended the post with: “Let’s not forget that you are a bit of a d—khead too.”
