MKR's Josh and Amy 'in hiding'

My Kitchen Rules couple Josh and Amy have been feuding throughout the series, and now it seems the couple have gone into hiding.

The married pair from WA, who once again locked horns during Tuesday night's episode, are declining interviews as their dramatic episodes play out on Aussie screens.

"Unfortunately Josh is refusing to do any publicity for MKR," a Channel Seven rep told Be.

In a previous interview published in New Idea magazine, Josh admitted that celebrity judges Manu Feildel and Pete Evans had "words" with him behind the scenes about his treatment of his wife.

“There were a few blow-ups in front of the camera on a few different occasions,” the 26-year-old told the publication of the challenging time he's had with Amy on the show.

“Even Pete and Manu had a chat with me at one stage and said, ‘You have to realise the show is a small part of your life, but you have a whole marriage together.’”

Meanwhile during Tuesday night's episode, Amy and Josh weren't even cooking, but still managed to have an argument.

In fact the drama escalated quickly, with Amy storming off on her husband halfway through observing a sudden death challenge.

The pair had been watching Mell and Cyn compete against Court and Duncan, and the fact that Josh is not a fan of Court or Duncan only encouraged him to push everyone’s buttons - including his wife’s.

“There’s been tension between us and Court and Duncan. We’ve had a few personality clashes and I feel like they might be going home today,” Josh said at the start of the episode.

And as their opponents began cooking, the self-proclaimed “Seafood King” had plenty of snide remarks to drop throughout the course preparations.

Commenting on Court and Duncan’s fried chicken entré, Josh was quick to note: “I feel like it’s quite a safe entré”.

“Frying chicken and doing it perfectly, I don’t see how you’re going to get 10 from that,” he said.

And that wasn’t the only element of the dish that Josh had something to say about, as he also spoke up when the accompanying hot sauce was being stirred.

“I can smell something burning on the stove. Strong vinegar smell…” he said, with wife Amy choosing not to say anything.

But things took a more serious turn up on the spectators’ balcony when Josh made a particular comment about the sudden death round.

“From a competition perspective, I would like Court and Duncan to stay in the competition so we can verse them at sudden death, because that’s what Court wants.”

While Amy remained silent at this stage, the other contestants nearby were quick to speak up.

“That’s not what Court wants,” Della said.

“I’m sure no one actually wants to be in sudden death, end of story,” Tully added.

Then Amy decided to step in, telling her husband: “Stop it, stop it!”.

She raised her hand to cover Josh’s mouth, before sticking up her middle finger.

“I’m going to sit backstage, you’re so annoying!” she told him, before storming off to the other side of the balcony.

The drama upstairs didn’t go unnoticed by the teams competing, with Court telling Duncan: “People are fighting with Josh up there, it’s hilarious”.

Duncan didn’t want his partner to be distracted by it all, telling her: “What’s going on over there has nothing to do with us sweetie”.

The other contestants also weighed in on Josh’s behaviour.

“Josh might be purposely trying to influence Court and Duncan while they cook, or he might just be having another outburst. I’m not sure,” Uber driver Tyson said in a piece-to-camera.

Meanwhile Court said: “I feel sorry for Amy. She married a douche”.

After Della told Josh that “if your wife’s not standing here, you’re doing something wrong”, he decided to go and make amends.

“Babe I promise I won’t say anything besides food,” he pleased.

“ You can’t help yourself. You just have to bark back,” Amy responded.

Josh eventually obliged, “Ok I’m sorry”, and the pair finally united and joined the group in the common viewing area on the balcony.

Back to what was meant to be the real drama, the two teams battled it out, but Court and Duncan managed to come out on top.

The pair received a score of 50 out of 60, while Mell and Cyn only got 34 out of 60.

“You’ve set the new benchmark in sudden deaths,” Pete told Court and Duncan, and if Josh’s earlier comments are anything to go by, the “Seafood King” must be stoked and ready to verse his next opponents.
