Zac reveals 'Hugh saved my life'

Aussie superstar Hugh Jackman plays a mutant superhero in the Wolverine flicks, but we didn’t realise his heroic acts carried over into real life too!

Zac Efron, who is currently filming movie musical The Greatest Showman with Hugh, has revealed that the Logan star “saved his life” on set when a fire-related stunt went wrong.

The scene, in which Hugh’s character saves Zac’s from a burning building, was supposed to be fictional.

But as Zac told MTV at CinemaCon this week, the “pyrotechnics got a little bit too hot” – which led to Hugh saving Zac for real!

"We burst out of the building. It looked great on camera. We didn't know it [at the time], but it was pretty intense.

“I watched playback, and he saved me from a burning building. It later exploded that night. It was a set, but it later burned down.”

Don’t worry, Zac realises how lucky he is to be plucked from danger by the hunky Australian and takes nothing for granted.

"It was pretty awesome," he added, before joking: "Hugh Jackman saving you from a burning building? It's every girl's dream!"
