Beyoncé to star in live-action Lion King

Disney sure is on a roll with remakes of their animated classics, with Cinderella, The Jungle Book and now Beauty and the Beast making big coin at the box office.

The next flick to get the live-action treatment is The Lion King, and the studio is moving fast, already casting Simba and eyeing off a very famous Nala!

Variety reports that director Jon Favreau, who also helmed The Jungle Book, wants Beyoncé to voice the beloved character – in fact, she’s his “top choice”.

Actor Donald Glover, who is also a musician with the stage name Childish Gambino, is already locked in to play Simba – so another musically-inclined star would make sense!

Though Queen Bey is expecting twins later this year, insiders tell the publication that Disney and Favreau will play ball.

In fact, they're “willing to work with her schedule” to make her part in the movie happen.
