Chris O'Donnell made an appearance on the Conan show last night, and said that in order for him to shoot scenes at The Plaza Hotel New York for his 1992 film Scent Of A Woman, he had to give Donald Trump [then owner of the hotel] a walk-on part in the film.
It all started when Ben Affleck said in an interview in January this year, "The director Marty Brest told me he’d had to create a whole hand-shaking scene in 'Scent of a Woman' where Trump comes out of the door and goes, ‘Hey! Donald Trump, nice to meet you,’ as he bumps into Al Pacino. The ego was there a long time ago.” he told Vanity Fair.
So Conan asked Chris O'Donnell in last night's show if the story was true.
“We got new pages given to us one day when we were filming [at] the Plaza Hotel — which I guess Trump owned at the time — and it said we’re doing a scene with Donald Trump," Chris explained.
He went on to say. "It explained to us in that in order for us to film at the Plaza we had a little walk-on part for Trump".
And funnily enough Chris said that Trump "looked the same going into hair and makeup as he did when he left."
However sadly for the President, his part was cut from the finished movie. Ah... Awkward!
"Donald probably thought that’s going to be in the movie and they were throwing that footage away as he was leaving,” Chris jokingly said.
