Erin Moran's cause of death revealed
After passing away at the age of 56 on Saturday, it is said Happy Days star Erin Moran likely died of cancer.
According to E! News, The Harrison County Sheriffs Department in Harrison County, Indiana, released a statement: "On Saturday the 22nd day of April 2017, Erin Marie Moran-Fleischmann passed away at her residence located in New Salisbury, Ind.
"A joint investigation into Mrs. Moran's death was conducted by the Harrison County Sheriff's Department and the Harrison County Coroner's Office. A subsequent autopsy revealed that Mrs. Moran likely succumbed to complications of stage 4 cancer.
"Standard toxicology tests were performed and the results are pending. However, no illegal narcotics were found at the residence."
Erin played the beloved character Joanie on Happy Days and its spin-off series Joanie Loves Chachi.
Signed up to star in the hit sitcom when she was just 14, California-born Erin's career faltered after her early success.
She and her husband were reportedly evicted from their trailer park home in Indiana, and were forced to live at a motel.
"On April 22, 2017 at approximately 4.07pm, the Harrison County Sheriffs Department received a 911 call that referenced an unresponsive female," the Harrison County Sheriffs Department in Harrison County told E! News in a statement over the weekend.
"Upon the arrival of first responders, it was determined that Erin Marie Moran Fleischmann was deceased and an autopsy is pending."
Moran's friends and former colleagues expressed their sadness at her passing on social media.
