Terri's emotional tribute for Steve

Terri Irwin has shared an emotional tribute for her late Crocodile Hunter husband Steve, on what would have been their 25th wedding anniversary.

The 52-year-old took to Twitter to share the heartfelt post alongside a photo of herself and Steve kissing, with a lizard perched happily on top of their heads!

"Today would have been our 25th wedding anniversary. I miss you so very much, and I am grateful every day for the time we had together," Terri tweeted.

Steve tragically passed away in 2006 after being stung by a sting ray while filming an underwater documentary in Queensland.

Last year Terri opened up about losing her "soulmate", saying despite the persistent rumours she was dating Russell Crowe, she hasn't dated at all since Steve passed away at age 44.

"I haven't been on a single date since Steve died," the widow told The Australian Woman’s Weekly.

"If I hadn't met Steve, I probably would never have married because I wasn't looking for love when I met him. What we had was incredible."

Recently the Australia Zoo owner also revealed she and Steve were planning to try for a third baby before his death.

The couple had two children during their marriage, Wildlife Warriors Bindi, 18 and Robert, 13.

American native Terri first met Steve while out in Australia on vacation, and visited the zoo, then called the Crocodile Environmental Park in 1991.

It was a whirlwind romance for the couple, who were engaged after four months and were married a year after first meeting in Terri's home state of Oregon on June 4 1992.

The couple then settled on Queensland Sunshine Coast, renaming the zoo and welcoming their two kids.

Earlier this year Bindi dedicated a loving post to her parents, sharing a photo of Terri and Steve cuddling up to a koala.

"Soul mates - in this life and every other. True love lasts always," she captioned the snap.

Meanwhile Terri recently addressed the constant reports she and Rusty are an item, saying he's nothing more than a "dear friend".

"He is very lucky to be embroiled in all of these great rumours," she joked during an appearance on Access Hollywood in May.

"We are friends, so he did contact me and ask me if there was something I should let him know. In all honesty, he and Steve became friends many years ago, and after Steve passed, you find out who your true friends are. And Russell has been very loyal as a great friend... but absolutely just a dear friend. Nothing going on."
