Has Khloe 'kursed' Tristan?

His team lost the NBA finals to the Golden State Warriors, so is Tristan Thompson the latest victim of the Kardashian curse?

The Cleveland Cavaliers centre has been dating Khloe Kardashian since October last year and now fans and commentators are wondering whether his lacklustre perfomance during the finals had more to do with his off-court life.

Tristan wouldn't be the only athlete to be "struck down", with fans previously suggesting the 'Kardashian Kurse' has affected Khloe's ex-husband Lamar Odom as well as sister Kim Kardashian's exes Kris Humphries and NFL footballer Reggie Bush.

Mid-way through the play-offs former NBA player and commentator Jalen Rose spoke about to the curse, suggesting Tristan's form was because of his relationship.

"I want to say what every body’s thinking. There are three things in life that are certain to me: Father Time, gravity, and the curse of the Kardashians. Tristan Thompson had zero points in two of the three games," he said after a Cavs loss early in the finals.

However former New York Knicks star Allan Houston has leapt to Tristan's defence, saying his girlfriend isn't to blame.

"To me, my job was to compete and that is what I focused on — it doesn’t matter about who you’re dating," he told Page Six.

ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy also defended Khloe, saying it's not her fault the Cavs were struggling to win.

"I’ve noticed a lot, in this series, the debate about why Tristan Thompson has not played well," he said on Friday.

"And he hasn’t played well. But the debate about whether his significant other, Khloe Kardashian, and the ‘Kardashian curse’ is the reason, to me, is downright low-rent.

"My thing is this: When LeBron James struggled in 2011 in those Finals, did we say it was his significant other that caused him to not succeed? Or last year with Steph Curry, was it Steph Curry’s wife, when he didn’t play up to standard? No.

"This Kardashian-shaming is because she’s an easy target. And I don’t know her or her family, but I do know this: She deserves an apology for anybody who participated in that type of debate."

Meanwhile Khloe, who was spotted cheering on her man to victory with sister Kourtney and momager Kris Jenner at Friday's game, apparently "hates" copping the blame for the team's poor performances.

"She hates that people are blaming her it’s beyond unfair,” an insider told Hollywood Life.

"She feels under attack right now, there’s no other way to put it. She’s angry and wants to lash out at people but she does not want to feed the trolls. Of course if this starts to become news she will have to defend herself, she’s not going to be able to stay quiet."
