Amal and George drop $260k on baby gifts
They're only a week old but already George and Amal Clooney's twins are getting as taste for the finer things in life!
After the couple welcomed daughter Ella and son Alexander last Tuesday, the 56-year-old actor and his wife have "spared no expense" when it comes to their children.
"You name it, they've bought it," a source tells New Idea. "George and Amal want to do everything they can to give their new son and daughter the best start in life."
After a reported $5 million renovation to give the kids the best nursery possible, George and Amal, 39, have also splashed out on accessories and clothing!
The source adds Amal bought "20 Hermes baby blankets" worth $2000 each, as well as a "limited edition Silver Cross Balmoral rose gold pram" which is said to cost over $120,000. That's more than a luxury car!
The human rights lawyer apparently didn't settle for just any baby bag, instead opting for a $100,000 Hermes Birkin!
George has also spent big as he settles into fatherhood, gifting Amal a "custom-made $2 million diamond ring" push present!
"He never thought he'd be a dad - but now he's so thankful that he found Amal and they have a new family together, and he wanted to show her that," the insider adds to the mag.
George and Amal, who wed in 2014, will also reportedly spend another $2 mil a year for a team of nannies to help them take care of their bubs!
Money was no object for proud Papa George, with the source adding the Ocean's Eleven star "cracked open a case of rare $2100-a-bottle Dom Perignon Champagne" to celebrate the twin's arrival!

And while the couple settle into family life, George is taking no chances when it comes to Ella and Alexander’s safety!
George has reportedly hired the babies’ bouncers – and we’re not talking about the ones they sit in! Each bub has its own security detail to stand guard over them, even in the nursery while they sleep.
“Fatherhood was a long time coming for George so he’s not risking his brood coming to any harm,” a source told RadarOnline. “The baby bouncers are just the start.”
The outlet claims that the bodyguards come at a cool price of $318,000 USD (over $422,000 AUD) a year, and adds that the new dad also forked out $127,000 USD (around $169,000 AUD) for a high-tech security system to be installed at the family’s UK property.
