Lisa Kudrow shuts down rumours of a Friends spin-off

Lisa Kudrow has shut down rumours of a Friends spin-off for Phoebe.

Fans of the show were apparently misled by a report in US publication In Touch that said Lisa was "in talks" for her own sitcom based on her character from the classic series.

Lisa’s representative has confirmed to Digital Spy that the actress will not be working on any such project.

It comes after reports the 53-year-old was in talks with Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman, 60, about a Phoebe Buffay spin-off.

The publication claimed that the pair, who are also working together on Netflix series Grace and Frankie, had already started brainstorming fun ideas and storylines for the show.

But unfortunately all our dreams of "Smelly Cat" sing-a-longs and impressive CGI dance numbers for Phoebe and her twin Ursula have come to an end.

And suddenly all of us are weeping into a Central Perk coffee cup.

Sniff!
