In an interview with InStyle about her collection, she said: “I’ve had to create my own plays, television roles, and movie projects in order to play the parts I’ve wanted.”

Rebel added: "It’s what I’ve always done as an actress, but I never thought as a teenager that I’d someday have a fashion line".

This is not the first time the 36-year-old has dipped her toe into the fashion world.

In 2013 the star debuted her own T-shirt line called Fat Mandi which she then followed up with a limited edition holiday collection in 2015 with US plus size fashion brand Torrid.

The collection is set to go on sale in the coming weeks at US department stores Dillard’s, Lord & Taylor and Nordstrom.

Rebel admitted to InStyle that she created this collection keeping plus sized women in mind and reflecting on her own shopping struggles when she was younger.

“I was a young woman making money, and there were no clothes to buy. It felt like if you were over a certain size, designers didn’t care about you,” she explained.

Rebel recently won a high-profile defamation trial against Bauer Media, which published articles saying she lied about her real name, age and childhood.

A Victorian Supreme Court jury of six women deliberated for two days over their verdict, in which they were asked to consider 40 questions and eight magazine articles published in Woman'sDay, Australian Women'sWeekly, NW and OK magazine.
