In fact it's been more like 'silver fox alert' in the past 48 hours, as photos have emerged of the 54-year-old actor looking damn fine, giving Crazy Stupid Love co-star Ryan Gosling a serious run for his money.

Promoting his latest animated flick in London over the past few days, the father-of-two effortlessly oozed sex appeal, stepping out in a classic sweater and trouser combo, with some hot sunnies and a cheeky grin to top off the look.

Obviously the internet went into meltdown, with fans across the world struggling to wipe the drool off their keyboards as they expressed their appreciation for the star on social media.

One wrote: "Honestly take your Goslings and your Zayns Malik and give me 2017 Steve Carell".
