Pia Miller defends her 'difficult' reputation

Pia Miller is best known for her leading role as an Aussie cop Katarina Chapman on popular drama series Home and Away.

And now the 33-year-old has opened up about how she felt about the comments made in her cover feature for Elle magazine in March, that claimed the actress was “difficult” to work with and had a “zealous level of control.”

The article continued, "The shoot concept and this accompanying interview were more difficult to agree on than most international cover stars in this magazine's history."

The mother-of-two has now shared her views in a her August cover interview with Cosmopolitan defending her right to say “no.”

“People can be so coerced into saying yes to please people. [Saying no] is not being rude… or difficult," she told the outlet.

“I have the right to protect what I’ve created and if it puts people offside, then so be it."

The publication reports that the Chilean-born actress was asked by Elle if her two sons Isiah, 14, and Lennox, 10, could appear in their March cover shoot.

However Pia didn’t feel comfortable with the boys being involved and said no.

She went on to say that although she likes to share family moments of her partner Tyson Mullane and sons from two previous relationships on her personal Instagram account, people get "funny" about her saying no to them being on the cover of a magazine.

"That’s my social media outlet and that’s one of the only things I … have control over."
