Ash Pollard: 'I'm discovering my sexuality'

She presented herself as the prim and proper Melbourne socialite during her 2014 stint on My Kitchen Rules.

But Ash Pollard channels a sexy new look ahead of the release of her new cookbook.

Speaking to Be, the 31-year-old media personality admits stripping down for the camera has been a new experience, but it's all a part of how she's "discovered my sexuality".

"I'm actually quite conservative in the way I dress normally. I don’t often show skin," she says, explaining she was keen to try something new for her latest culinary related project.

The shots show the curly-haired star posing in underwear while seductively licking the cream off a cake, but she says she chooses to ignore those who are resistant to her new image.

"I just think it is classic," she tells Be in reference to her critics. "I actually don’t give a flying f**k what anybody thinks."

"As the years have gone by, as you grow older, you change, you grow into yourself. I’ve discovered my sexuality

"Women are sexualised and often you feel pressured to keep that to yourself but I feel I’m in a position of power sometimes to really motivate women around me in a positive way."

Ash insists she's a "chameleon" of sorts, and the Ash we got to know on MKR "was one facet of my personality".

"I also have a bogan part and real down to earth part," she says.

Let's remember, this shoot is all in the name of promoting Ash's new cookbook, which hits shelves on Sunday.

Explaining it's a combination of her own "go-to" recipes, the reality star says she wants to give fans an insight into what she cooks, and also make them realise that some of the tastiest dishes are so simple to make.

"I don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen for hours," she says, adding she'd recommend the lamb and greek salad with polenta and tzatziki or ricotta gnocchi for those trying to impress a date.
