Fans were sent into a frenzy earlier this year after the season's official trailer was released, speculating it would be coming back close to Halloween after a brief glimpse in the clip showed the boys dressed up as Ghostbusters.

In the latest promo poster, the gang is back and shows the four central characters staring into the eye of a very ominous storm! Demogorgon and all.

Netflix have also shared a synopsis for the upcoming season, giving fans a taste of what's to come.

"It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived," it read.

Last year the show's creators Matt and Ross Duffer dropped some major hints about season two to HuffPost, confirming to the outlet that it'll pick up from where season one left off.

"Moving forward, we’re going to get more into detail about the monster and where it came from and what the Upside Down really is," Ross told the publication.

"People want explanations for all that, so while we have answers for all this, what we really wanted to get from this first season is that this gate opens to this other dimension.

"What it really boils down to is, Will is in there and we have to get him back. The hope was that, because we resolved that, the first season will be satisfying to people and work as a stand-alone. Hopefully we get to go back and explore more of this stuff," he added.

Bring on October!
