When Jon Snow fell for Ygritte

He may not 'know nothing' on Game of Thrones, but Kit Harington is a little more switched on when it comes to reality.

The 30-year-old star has opened up about his private life, revealing what it was like to meet long-term love, and former co-star, Rose Leslie on the set of the smash HBO series.

"I think that’s the really special thing about it is that we met on this show and here we are seven years down the line back here promoting season 7. I mean it’s mad. It’s such a special thing. I’m so privileged," Kit said at the season seven premiere last week.

Rose played Jon Snow's love interest Ygritte from season two, blessing the world with one of the most memorable lines from the series, "You know nothing Jon Snow".

Despite their on-screen romance, and raunchy sex scenes early on in the series, Kit and Rose have managed to keep their relationship largely out of the public eye.

It's not the first time Kit has opened up about what Game of Thrones means to the couple, telling Vogue Italia last year that filming in Iceland holds a special place in his heart.

"Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love," he said.

"If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it’s becomes very easy to fall in love."

Sadly like most of the characters on the show, Ygritte met an early demise in season four, dying in Jon's arms after being shot in the back during a battle at Castle Black.

Although dating on/off since 2012, last month the English actor got some pressure to pop the question from none other than Nicole Kidman!

Appearing on the Late Late Show with James Corden, Nic seemed surprised to find out that Rose and Kit were taking their relationship "step-by-step" despite living together.
