Evan Rachel Wood slams Ben Affleck's 'gay kiss' comment

Actress Evan Rachel Wood has slammed Ben Affleck for a comment he made 20 years ago about kissing a guy on screen.

When filming Chasing Amy back in the 1990s, Ben had said locking lips with a man is the "greatest acting challenge an actor can ever face", but Evan doesn't agree, and has let the whole world know.

Taking to Twitter, the 29-year-old who describes herself as bisexual wrote: "Try getting raped in a scene. Also, grow up Ben".

The ex of Marilyn Manson continued: "I'm sure he just thought it was a funny, but even jokes like that are damaging".

"Also, you think us ladies like kissing all the guys we kiss? Just cause its a 'straight kiss' doesnt mean we enjoy it. Ahem."

The publication reports that following a screening of the 1997 flick, director Kevin Smith participated in a Q&A session, during which talk turned to Ben's same-sex kiss with co-star Jason.

Kevin recounted that Ben had said "a man kissing another man is the greatest acting challenge an actor can ever face". He added that the actor had also said, "now, I'm a serious actor", once the scene had been filmed.

In Chasing Amy, Ben's character falls in love with a girl who happens to actually have a thing for other women.

In a 1997 interview published by Entertainment Tonight, Ben reflects on his kiss with Jason, saying it was definitely a scene that challenged him.

"I'm not a homophobic... I guess I am more than I thought, you know. It was just difficult for me. I didn't think it would be," he said.

"I really backed down from it in a way," he added. "I could have done I think a more committed job and next time."
