Celebs pay tribute to Linkin Park's Chester Bennington

Reports have emerged that Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington has died by suicide.

TMZ has published claims from police sources that the 41-year-old, who has been open about his struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, was found dead in his home by an employee Thursday morning (US time).

Many other stars have taken to social media to share their grief and pay tribute to the singer.

Tragically, Chester was a close friend of Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, 53, who committed suicide in May. He performed a version of the Leonard Cohen song "Hallelujah" at Chris' funeral.

The Linkin Park frontman took his own life on what would have been Chris’ 54th birthday.

As news of Chester's suicide emerged, Chris' widow Vicky took to the social media site to share her own grief.

Chester was a father of six, and TMZ reports his family are currently out of town.
