Hilary Duff robbed after sharing holiday snaps online

She's been sharing cute family photos from her travels.

But Hilary Duff has just discovered that flaunting your picturesque vacay online can have awful consequences.

According to TMZ, the mum-of-one's LA home has been targeted by thieves who broke in while she was away.

The outlet cliams that the 29-year-old's Beverly Hills home was broken into on Wednesday night (US time), with a source informing them that the actress' security alarm never went off.

Their source estimated Hilary lost "hundreds of thousands of dollars" worth of bling in the robbery.

The Younger actress has been sharing candid snaps of her family getaway with son, Luca, five, inlcuding an impressive video of her doing a handstand dive.

A representative for the 29-year-old told the MailOnline that the incident had been "scary and upsetting."

"Hilary is thankful that her family, her staff, her home and her pets are all safe," the report said, explaining she would be hiring a "significant security team" in the wake of the robbery.

The former Lizzie McGuire star's ex-hubby Mike is from Canda and could be why they've jetted over the boarder.

Their divorce was finalised at the start of last year but they remain on good terms for the sake of their son, Luca.

Hilary isn't going to end her trip early because of the commotion, and has decided to stay and enjoy the rest of her Canadian break.
