Meet The Bachelor's 'final five'

The fifth season of The Bachelor Australia has only just kicked off, but there's already discussion on who the final five contestants will be.

According to New Idea magazine, Lisa, Michelle, Tara, Laura and Elise are the stunning bachelorettes tipped to make Matty J's top picks.

And the speculation continues online, with bookmaker Sportsbet naming 30-year-old jewellery designer (and Georgia Love lookalike) Laura as the frontrunner, while model Lisa, 24, comes closely behind.

So far only Lisa's single date with Matty has been aired, but is she 'the one'?

"She is a tough nut to crack and Matty worries he doesn't know enough about her," a source tells New Idea, adding the blonde has been "hurt" in the past after pursuing long-term relationships.

The insider also says that Matty and nanny Tara's connection may be more of a friendship than romance.

"The relationship needs more chemistry to work," the source says.

Meanwhile Matty, 30, reckons he’s kept very tight-lipped about who the lucky lady is – in fact, he’s told a grand total of two people.

“I think I’m a pretty good liar,” he recently told The Daily Telegraph.

But that’s not to say it’s been easy. “[The] worst thing is having to keep it a bit of a secret,” he added. “My mum and my sister are the only two people I’ve told.”

During an interview with Fitzy and Wippa on Nova 96.9 FM, the radio hosts asked Matty to “blink once” if the winner was Lisa.

“Why Lisa?” he asked coyly, but he was caught blinking as he said it.

Whether that was a major spoiler or just, you know, a normal bodily function, we guess only time will tell.

The Bachelor Australia airs on Wednesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on Channel Ten.
