Biebs speaks out about cancelling his Purpose World Tour

Justin Bieber left his fans heartbroken after it was announced last month that the remainder of his Purpose World Tour was cancelled.

While a statement was released saying the tour was cut short “due to unforseen circumstances,” Justin hasn’t actually spoken publically about it…until now.

The star posted a long-winded message to his Instagram account explaining he is taking time for himself but that he is “so grateful for this journey with all of [his fans]”.

The 23-year-old wrote: “I have let my insecurities get the best of me at times, I let broken relationships dictate the way I acted toward people and the way I treated them! i let bitterness, jealousy and fear run my life.!!!! (sic)”.

Biebs said he was trying to “build my character back up reminding me of who I am and who I want to be” and thanked those around him who were there to “help” him.

“I’m VERY aware I’m never gonna be perfect, and I’m gonna keep making mistakes but what I’m not gonna do is let my past dictate my future.. (sic),” Justin explained.

He continued: “Me taking this time right now is me saying I was to be SUSTAINABLE.. I want my career to be sustainable, but I also want my mind heart and soul to be sustainable. So that I can be the man I want to be, the husband I eventually want to be and the father I want to be (sic).”

Last week rumours were swirling that the reason Bieber cancelled his tour was because he wanted to start his own church.

Richard Wilkins revealed the news Today Extra saying: “I am led to believe that the real reason he’s come off the road is because he wants to reconnect with his faith and may be even planning to start his own church.”

“Whether he’s looking at teaming up with [Hillsong]… or starting his own church, we’re not quite sure. That’s the word from an inside source,” the host added.

The singer was recently Down Under for the annual Hillsong Closer Conference at the beginning of July.

In a statement issued to E! it was announced the last 14 dates of his tour would be axed "due to unforeseen circumstances" but assured fans with tickets to the affected dates would receive a full refund.
