Has Anna Faris always been unlucky in love?

As the world reels from the news that Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are legally separating, proving that love is dead for anyone who ever believed in it, it might come as a surprise to learn it wasn't Anna's first marriage.

Despite once finding happiness with the 38-year-old Hollywood heart-throb, Anna was married to fellow actor Ben Indra.

The couple met while working on the 1999 horror film Lovers Lane, and despite marrying in June 2004, they union was over by 2007 with Anna filing for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.

The 40-year-old actress has previously opened up about her first marriage, telling Marie Claire in 2011 that her growing fame and Ben's stalling career contributed to their union ending.

"That kind of destroyed my marriage. The divide became too great," she said at the time.

Anna added that following the spilt she embraced her inner-party girl and got breast implants.

"I was like, 'F**k it, I've got nothing to lose, nobody to support.' I wore the same Garfield shirt and jeans for three weeks. I had a running joke with my friend: 'I hope somebody roofies me tonight!' I didn't care what people thought."

Court documents reveal Anna ended up paying Ben $900,000 in their divorce as well as spliting property and acting royalties.

However it wasn't long before Anna fell for another co-star, meeting Chris in 2007 on the set of Take Me Home Tonight.

After a whirlwind romance, Chris popped the question in late 2008 and the couple said 'I Do' the following July, becoming #couplegoals and welcoming son Jack in 2012.

Anna opened up about falling for the Guardians of the Galaxy star, telling James Corden in 2015 it all came down to dead bugs to make her see she'd met her perfect match.

"I had a bug collection. Dead bugs, humanely harvested. When Chris and I first started dating, he invited me over to his apartment and he had, also, a dead bug collection...I started to cry," she told the late show host.

Chris was just as smitten with Anna, telling People in 2009 that he knew he wanted to marry the Scary Movie star the day they first met.

"I knew I wanted to marry her pretty soon [after I met her]. It took a while for me to admit it, because it would be crazy to be like, 'I want to marry you' the first day I met her. But I could have!"

But was Chris and Anna's shock split all that shocking?

In an interview earlier this year Anna got real about her and Chris' marriage, saying relationships had been hard for her and it took time for her to take her mother's advice to be "to be selfish in love."

"I later realized she meant to protect my heart and look out for myself and let a partner rise to that," Anna told Live Happy magazine.

"There was a time when I was willing to marry any cute boy that looked at me. I felt like if someone was attractive and wanted to hook up, it was a validation of my own identity."

While they seemingly had the perfect marriage, Anna also candidly revealed it wasn't perfect and she struggled to address issues.

"I can't stand confrontation, which maybe is a character flaw. But having said that, I do feel like when I do get upset, which is rare as my husband and family would say, I have a hard time letting go."

Chris and Anna announced earlier this week in a joint statement that they would be "legally separating" after eight years of marriage.

Our hearts can't take it. RIP love.
