It's been four days and counting since love was declared dead and Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced they would be separating.
And as the world reels that our #couplegoals aren't what we first thought, fresh claims suggest there was no third party involved in the marriage breakdown, instead jealousy played a bigger role.
As the 38-year-old actor's star continues to rise, staring in the likes of Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic Park, a source tellsUs Weekly that it all became too much for Anna.
"Chris became this huge movie star and Anna wasn't getting any big jobs. She was the more famous and sexy one at the start of their relationship and then things took a turn," the insider told the outlet.
At the start of their relationship, Chris was relatively unknown before he landed a role in Parks and Recreation, while Anna had more star power and was cementing herself as a comedy leading lady, starring in House Bunny,Take Me Home Tonight andWhat's Your Number.
However the source adds in recent years the situation reversed and the couple, who wed in 2009, became "a little competitive" when it came to landing the big roles.
"When they're in a big group, they each want to be the one telling the funniest joke," the insider added.
Ironically, it was the jealousy of each other's careers that ended Anna's first marriage to Ben Indra in 2007, with the 40-year-old Mom actress saying her first husband was unable to handle her growing fame.
"That kind of destroyed my marriage. The divide became too great," she told Marie Claire in 2011.
Chris and Anna announced earlier this week in a joint statement that they would be "legally separating" after eight years of marriage, but would continue to co-parent their four-year-old son Jack.
