Jimmy Kimmel’s son still not out of the woods
In an emotional piece to camera back in May, Jimmy Kimmel revealed on his talk show that his newborn son had a rare heart defect.
The host has now given an update on his now three-month-old baby boy’s health to The Hollywood Reporter and has said the little one is “doing great”.
He and wife Molly McNearney welcomed William “Billy” John Kimmel in April but only three hours after being born he was rushed into surgery for a heart defect which had been discovered.
“He has to have two more open heart surgeries. We would like to get them over with and not have to think about it all the time, but it could definitely be worse,” he recently told the publication.
Despite the impending surgeries it seems little Billy is a bouncy happy baby.
Jimmy said his new son is an “amazing kid” and does nothing but “smile”.
But he also told the outlet how stressful the whole ordeal was: “I felt like I was an episode of a television show where something terrible was happening.”

The 49-year-old and his wife were apparently “surprised” when the doctors told the couple that the surgery had gone well.
The couple also have a three-year-old daughter together, Jane.
