It's one of her iconic roles that catapulted her to instant sex symbol status, and now Sharon Stone has shared her audition tape for erotic thriller Basic Instinct.
The 58-year-old shared the brief clip on her Instagram account this week, telling her fans, "#BasicInstinct audition tape for #WaybackWednesday".
The video shows the blonde bombshell back in her 20s, lighting a cigarette before reciting lines with director Paul Verhoeven.
It's not hard to see why the star landed the role of writer Catherine Tramell, as she pulls off her lines with the ultimate confidence.
But the actress has said in previous interviews that she had some stiff competition when it came to securing the gig.
“It was not an easy part to get. They offered it to 12 or 13 other women who turned it down," she previously told OWN.
"So it wasn’t like I got there and everyone was like, ‘Yay, she’s here!’ It was like, ‘Mm.’ But I knew walking on that set that I was enough."
Basic Instinct went on to become the fourth highest-grossing film in 1992.
