Another wrote: "That's gotta be the most rewarding $1 that @taylorswift13 has ever made. Can't believe she had to go through all that".

Taylor won the case against Mueller, who was seeking $3 million in damages after claiming he lost his job at KYGO radio after Taylor's security team accused him of groping her bottom during a meet-and-greet in June of 2013.

Comprised of six women and two men, the jury ruled in favour of the musician after nearly four hours of deliberation. The former radio host is now forced to pay a symbolic $1.

Swift, 27, embraced her mother Andrea Swift the moment the verdict was read out.

Swift subsequently issued a statement, reading: "I want to thank Judge William J. Martinez and the jury for their careful consideration, my attorneys Doug Baldridge, Danielle Foley, Jay Schaudies and Katie Wright for fighting for me and anyone who feels silenced by a sexual assault, and especially anyone who offered their support throughout this four-year ordeal and two-year long trial process.

"I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this. My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves."

The singer has appeared in court over the past few days, and broke down in tears as lawyers presented their closing arguments on the last day of her groping trial.

Witnesses at the trail say Swift grabbed her mother's hand and began to cry after the attorney for Mueller held up a photo of her alleged assault and asked the jury whether his client woud have any reason to asault the star.

"I don’t know what kind of person grabs or gropes a music superstar, but it’s not that guy,” Mueller's lawyer told the court.

The lawyer repeatedly said the singer was wrong in her assertion that Mueller had stuck his hand under her skirt and "grabbed her bare ass cheek" as the pair posed for a photo.

The singer’s mother, Andrea Swift, had tears in her eyes during the session as she handed her daughter tissues.

Swift's own lawyer gave a powerful statement to the jury: "By returning a verdict on Ms. Swift's counterclaim for a single symbolic dollar, the value of which is immeasurable to all women in this situation... You will tell every woman... that no means no'.

On Thursday Swift delivered an assertive account of the incident, saying: "This was not jostling

"He did not touch my rib. He did not touch my arm. ... He grabbed my bare a**."

Meanwhile fellow singer Kesha has Tweeted a powerful message in support of Swift: "@taylorswift13 i support you always, and especially right now and admire your strength and fearlessness. truth is always the answer (sic)."

Swift previously supported Kesha in her own sexual assault case, by donating $250,000 to the star to finance her legal battle against producer Dr. Luke, who she claimed "sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally" abused her.
